The United States is on a serious quest to free itself from a costly and worrisome dependence on foreign oil, and depleting supplies of domestic petroleum, coal and natural gas.
Nick Lampson, a Beaumont native, served five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from the 22nd district of Texas, home of NASA's Johnson Space Center, and was Chairman of the Energy and Environment Subcommittee. He is currently a member of the Coalition for Space Exploration board of advisers.
