Q&A with RoofTech, The NABCEP Continuing Education Conference

Contributed by | RoofTech

Your company will be presenting at NABCEP CE Conference, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

NABCEP has been a unique vehicle for professionals of the PV industry Roof Tech. Because of its educational program, we find this event to be of great importance for us to connect to the solar contracting community.

What can an attendee to your presentation expect to learn this year?

One of our key topics is to demystify the perception for the need of a “metal flashing” applied to asphalt steep slope roofs. Our product uses a “flexible Flashing” which is third party evaluated by the International Code Council (ICC-ESR 3575)

Any new or recently released products you will be showcasing?

Yes, since its introduction, the RT MINI has become a popular self-flashing mounting base that is used with any rail type mounting system. Mostly due to its 100% waterproof design (weatherproof flashing system) and with the installation time since it doesn’t affect the seal of the roof shingles and it is fastened with screws instead of the conventional lag bolt.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

It is a good opportunity to interact with peers of the industry and observe how the industry is evolving.

How about Panel sessions, do you intend to sit in on any of these this year?

Keeping an eye on the code and changes that could be impacting product development is what I’d like to spend my time.

When you book for an event like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

We look forward to establishing new relationships and make more people aware that we exist.

Our team has grown in the last year, so this makes a good opportunity for us all to get together since we all come from different parts of the country. The NABCEP conference brings the top folks in the industry from all over the country, being that the opportunity for us to meet and exchange ideas is critical to the growth of Roof Tech
