ANAHEIM, Ca. - WINDPOWER 2017, American wind power's largest annual conference and exhibition, makes a return to Anaheim next week.

What: WINDPOWER comes home to California, a state that was an early pioneer of the modern wind energy industry. From humble beginnings in California's windy mountain passes, wind power charted a rapid rise to become America's leading source of renewable energy capacity in 2017, supporting over 100,000 American workers.

California's wind power leadership continues today. Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de León, the California Senate's most powerful member and legislative champion of the state's hallmark 50 percent renewable energy standard law, will provide the keynote address as the conference kicks off on the morning of Tuesday, May 23.

WINDPOWER brings together wind turbine technicians - America's fastest growing career - business leaders, farmers and ranchers, students, and many others from around the U.S. and the world. Attendees will see technology demonstrations, discover emerging trends, and make deals to shape the coming year.

Kipp & Zonen - DustIQ the novel soiling monitoring solution for solar panels

Soiling of the panel glass is one of the major problems in the rapidly expanding solar energy market, with the attendant loss of efficiency and reduction in performance ratios. Now, there's a new, simple and very cost-effective alternative. Based on Kipp & Zonen's unique Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM) technology, DustIQ can be easily added to new or existing solar arrays and integrated into plant management systems. The unit is mounted to the frame of a PV panel and does not need sunlight to operate. It continuously measures the transmission loss through glass caused by soiling, so that the reduction in light reaching the solar cells can be calculated.
