POWER-GEN Renewable Energy Trade Show Gains Momentum with 70% Growth in Number of Exhibitors

POWER-GEN Renewable Energy 2005 is expected to have over 90 exhibitors and over 1,500 attendees including as many as 100 utilities. 78 companies have already secured booths.

Washington, DC - The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) today announced a 70% growth in the number of exhibitors at POWER-GEN Renewable Energy, the all-renewable energy trade show to be held at the Las Vegas Hilton on March 1-3, 2005.

POWER-GEN Renewable Energy 2005 is expected to have over 90 exhibitors and over 1,500 attendees including as many as 100 utilities. 78 companies have already secured booths, including such majors as BP Solar, Shell Solar, Vestas, Airticity, Ormat, Calpine, Babcock & Wilcox Co., Black & Veatch, EnXco, and DaimlerChrysler to name a few.

POWER-GEN Renewable Energy 2005 also features a Biomass Pavilion covering biomass, biofuels, and bioproducts. DaimlerChrysler is a new exhibitor at PGRE, serving a rapidly-growing biofuels market, and is keen to highlight the automotive applications of biomass. Simon Godwin, Manager of Regulatory Affairs and External Affairs and Public Policy of NAFTA at DaimlerChrysler stated, "We consider PGRE to be a great opportunity to demonstrate DaimlerChrysler's activities in biofuels, to show our support for this growing business and to find out more about what other parties are working on."

Building on its success in 2004, GE Energy is exhibiting again at POWER-GEN Renewable Energy. Airtricity is also garnering an exhibit spot. "Airtricity is delighted to be part of Power-Gen Renewable Energy 2005. We are keen to meet lots of developers during the show and find some great potential partnerships," said Airtricity Inc.'s Martin McAdam, General Manager, North America.

"POWER-GEN events have proven to be reliable venues to conduct business and network with a diverse customer base. This is our first time exhibiting at POWER-GEN Renewable Energy, and we believe this conference's appeal will expand our contacts and help us reach out more effectively to those needing financing for renewable energy projects," said Tina K. Neal, Senior Vice President, Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc.

Rob Pratt, Director of the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust agrees. "The speed at which exhibitor sales have grown this year are a testament to PGRE's position in the mainstream. PGRE is not just a trade show, and it is not just a convention. It is an assembly of the renewable energy industry in one place, creating a center of commerce that never existed before," said Pratt. "This show is the place to be for keeping up visibility in front of the industry, developing new business, and keeping on top of the pulse of the market."

Partnering associations include the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), Biomass Coordinating Council (BCC), Clean Fuels Development Council (CFDC), New Uses Council (NUC), Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), National Hydropower Association, National Hydrogen Association, and the Geothermal Energy Association.

Supporting organizations include the United States Department of Commerce, Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), and the US Energy Association (USEA).
