ICP SOLAR'S NEW CORE TECHNOLOGY DELIVERS UP TO 50% MORE POWER

Factory capacity increased through production innovation

MONTREAL, QC, April 12, 2005 - ICP Solar, a leading manufacturer of products based on advanced solar technology, today announced enhancements to its core technology that will significantly increase the output of its thin-film solar cell factory and the yield of its solar energy products.

ICP's research and development team, based in Bridgend, UK, has re-engineered its standardized solar plate (930mm X 330mm) to deliver 18 watts per full plate - an increase in power generation of more than 50%.

"ICP Solar is very proud of this major technology innovation which comes at a time when demand is far outstripping supply of solar cells," said Sass Peress, CEO of ICP Solar. "Our engineering mandate was to distinguish our products from the competition. The fact that independent testing proves that ICP plates now generate up to twice as much power as other thin-film technologies validates our investment. In turn, partners who integrate our solar cells into their products will benefit from significantly improved performance," Mr. Peress added.

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
