Carmanah to supply Norwalk, CA with 22 i-SHELTER' solar LED lighting systems, as well as 216 units of its fully self-contained, solar LED i-STOP® illuminated bus stops.
Carmanah's Solar LED Group recently won a contract to supply the Norwalk Transit System in Norwalk, CA, with 22 i-SHELTER' solar LED lighting systems mounted on Landscape Forms' Kaleidoscope canopies, as well as 216 units of its fully self-contained, solar-powered i-STOP® LED illuminated bus stops with edge-lit schedules. These units will be installed throughout the City of Norwalk as part of the city's Bus Stop Improvement Project. This initiative includes a complete overhaul of bus stops including landscaping, bus pull-outs, benches, trash receptacles and other street furniture. Solar powered LED illumination systems will also be added to every stop.
Norwalk Transit System (NTS) has been operating fixed-route and paratransit service in Los Angeles County since 1974. Its fixed route operations serve the City of Norwalk and portions of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, La Mirada, and Whittier. NTS provides efficient and economical public transportation services while remaining committed to quality and safety. The ability to add security lighting in shelter stops and zones cost-effectively, as well as the technical specifications, were the motivation behind selecting Carmanah's products for this improvement project.
