Leading Software Company Signs as Official Sponsor of Canada's First Solar Park

Calgary based software firm sees need for solar energy as alternative to traditional sources.

September 6th, 2006 (Guelph, Ontario) - RiskAdvisory, a division of SAS and a leading provider of integrated risk solutions to energy market participants, has signed to be an official sponsor of The Sunpark Challenge, a project building Canada's first solar park.

Sunpark is located in the heart of rural Ontario and will supply renewable, non-polluting sun-generated electricity to the Province of Ontario. As solar energy projects take many years to become financially self-sustainable, Sunpark Energy Corp. is inviting Canada's leading companies to contribute to the project and help Canada adopt cleaner, safer energy.

"In this energy-hungry world economy, Sunpark represents an important first step in the right direction for Canada with respect to using our country's great solar resources in order to generate clean, renewable power," said Louis Caron, RiskAdvisory's Energy Risk Specialist. "RiskAdvisory is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to this very worthwhile endeavor."

About The Sunpark Challenge:
The Sunpark Challenge is inviting all Canadians to "help create a better planet for future generations" by sponsoring the individual solar cells that make up the solar park. Kipp & Zonen - DustIQ the novel soiling monitoring solution for solar panels

Soiling of the panel glass is one of the major problems in the rapidly expanding solar energy market, with the attendant loss of efficiency and reduction in performance ratios. Now, there's a new, simple and very cost-effective alternative. Based on Kipp & Zonen's unique Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM) technology, DustIQ can be easily added to new or existing solar arrays and integrated into plant management systems. The unit is mounted to the frame of a PV panel and does not need sunlight to operate. It continuously measures the transmission loss through glass caused by soiling, so that the reduction in light reaching the solar cells can be calculated.
