Atlas Air ClimateCare helping to stop climate change

Plans to build Canada's first solar park came another step closer to reality today as a company that specializes in indoor air quality and home comfort added its support to a project to reduce environmental damage such as smog and global warming.

November 14, 2006 (Guelph, Ontario) - Plans to build Canada's first solar park came another step closer to reality today as a company that specializes in indoor air quality and home comfort added its support to a project to reduce environmental damage such as smog and global warming.

Oakville, Ontario-based Atlas Air ClimateCare will sponsor The Sunpark Challenge to help buy the solar panels and equipment necessary to generate clean, renewable electricity from the power of the sun.

"It is an honour to be part of such a great initiative," says Roger Grochmal P.Eng., President, Atlas Air ClimateCare. "Being environmentally responsible is something we take very seriously and it's great that we can support a venture like this in the province of Ontario. We live, work and play in the same community as our customers and we are committed to making it a better place."

Solar parks are used extensively in Europe and Japan to generate electricity from sunlight, but they have never been implemented in Canada. The solar panels used in a solar park don't cause pollution or emit any greenhouse gases that can cause global warming and climate change, and are capable of producing electricity in a safe, environmentally-friendly way for many decades.

About The Sunpark Challenge:
The Sunpark Challenge invites Canadian corporations to "help create a better planet for future generations" by sponsoring the solar panels that make up the solar park. Companies that sponsor the project receive advertising and promotional opportunities in recognition of their contribution to the environment. For more information, visit www.sunpark.ca.
