LOS ANGELES MAYOR ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA SET TO DELIVER OPENING ADDRESS AT THE GREENXCHANGE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Additional speakers representing the financial sector will discuss increasing investment opportunities in the renewable energy business

Los Angeles, Calif., and Framingham, Mass., September 12, 2007 - GreenXchange LLC, the recently formed partnership of tradeshow innovator IDG World Expo and environmental think-tank VerdeXchange, today confirmed that Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles, will deliver the opening address at the upcoming GreenXchange' Leadership Conference, scheduled to take place December 10-11, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Mayor Villaraigosa has made greening Los Angeles one of the centerpieces of his administration, and attendees will have the opportunity to hear first-hand about his bold agenda to make Los Angeles the greenest big city in the United States.

Conference organizers also announced the addition of several speakers representing the green and clean tech investment communities who will address the growing number of opportunities in the renewable energy business.

"Los Angeles is setting the green standard for its use of renewable energy and our Green L.A. Climate Change Action Plan features some of the most ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions set by a major American city," said Mayor Villaraigosa. "The GreenXchange Leadership Conference is a global event focused on understanding the fast changing markets for green technologies. I'm honored to be able to kick-off what promises to be the defining event in shaping the green world, and sharing the details on how Los Angeles is embracing global environmental leadership."

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is considered a political trailblazer on many issues. He recently released the details of "Green L.A.: An Action Plan to Lead the Nation in Fighting Climate Change," and armed with the support of the City Council and a comprehensive package of environmental initiatives, he made it clear he believes that L.A.'s green agenda will lead the nation.

Villaraigosa was elected mayor of Los Angeles in a run-off election on May 17, 2005. Prior to his service as mayor, Villaraigosa was the California State Assemblyman for the 45th District, the Speaker of the California State Assembly and the Los Angeles City Councilman representing the 14th District. Before being elected to public office, Villaraigosa had a long career as a labor organizer. Villaraigosa also serves as one of four national co-chairmen of Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2008 Presidential campaign.

In response to the growing number of green and clean tech portfolios, the GreenXchange Leadership Conference today also announced the addition of several speakers representing the financial sector, who will participate in panel discussions to address investing and capitalizing on green technologies. Financial professionals attending the conference will learn about investing in new green projects, funding existing green organizations, and investing in emerging technology companies that are showing great promise for growing and offering a viable commercial product, among other topics. The renewable energy business is one of the fastest-growing segments in the investment industry. With growing opportunities in wind, solar, wave energy, biofuels and battery markets, investments in renewables are on the rise, making a major statement about the faith of investors and policymakers in these alternative energy markets.

"Environmental policy and policy makers are a growing consideration by institutional investors," said Alan Emkin, founder and Managing Director of Pensions Consulting Alliance Inc. "From venture capitalists to the issuers of global debt, global warming, energy efficiency and clean water offer opportunities for investors. This conference presents an ideal forum for the two worlds to exchange ideas and create new partnerships."
