National Hydrogen Association Brings Emerging Markets and Hydrogen Power to California.

"Ramping Up Commercialization"--the theme for the 19th annual NHA Hydrogen Conference with Hydrogen Expo U.S., March 30 - April 3.

Sacramento, CA - Can a generator make electricity indoors, with no emissions? It can if it's a fuel cell running on hydrogen. Starting today, hydrogen fuel cells will be providing emission-free electricity inside the Sacramento Convention Center to power a forklift and parts of the largest hydrogen conference in the U.S. The forklift and fuel cells are just some of the real-life examples of the products sold today in emerging markets confirming that the industry truly is "Ramping Up Commercialization"--the theme for the 19th annual NHA Hydrogen Conference with Hydrogen Expo U.S., March 30 - April 3.

"This is an exciting time in the hydrogen industry," said Jeff Serfass, President of the National Hydrogen Association. "While we witness continued progress in getting hydrogen vehicles to the showroom, we already have hydrogen products today that are being bought and sold as a result of the reduced emissions, greater performance, and reduced cost in some markets."

At the NHA Hydrogen Conference and Hydrogen Expo U.S. there will be at least two operational fuel cells. One, an Altergy Freedom Power' System, features a 10 kilowatt configuration including hydrogen tanks that will provide power for an interactive video gaming system, monitor, two controllers and Altergy's demonstration booth. Typically, this system provides on-demand backup power for telecommunications and other essential 24/7 services. Major wireless carriers around the U.S. and customers around the world are currently using these systems to ensure reliable power and uninterrupted cell phone service.

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG) will also provide a fuel cell, their GenCore® system, which will be working right inside the main entrance of the Sacramento Convention Center. The 5kW fuel cell with hydrogen tanks will greet event visitors and power the entire registration area of the NHA Hydrogen Conference and Hydrogen Expo U.S. Like the Altergy system, the Plug Power system is also meeting customer needs in the telecommunications and back-up power emerging markets. GenCore systems are currently used by the National Weather Service and the New York State Police Department for reliable, silent, emission-free electricity.

Also, for the first time at any conference, a hydrogen forklift will be used to help set-up Hydrogen Expo U.S., the exposition of the 19th Annual NHA Hydrogen Conference. Plug Power is providing the forklift powered by their GenDrive' system which, like the other fuel cells, is emission-free and is meeting existing market needs around the globe. WalMart® and the Defense Logistics Agency are already using hydrogen forklifts in their warehouses to save money by keeping operating costs down and reduce their carbon emissions. The forklift will be on in the expo hall March 30 - April 1 for demonstrations.

Altergy and Plug Power are not alone. There is a wide array of companies who are providing products and services today to new and growing markets that have found the benefit in hydrogen technologies. Over 90 companies in some 140 booths will be on display at the Expo which is expected to attract over 1,500 attendees.

The general public is invited to visit the Expo and participate in the hydrogen vehicle Ride and Drive during tomorrow's "Public Day", Monday only, March 31 from 10AM - 5PM at the Sacramento Convention Center.
