Strategic Board Additions Offer Inroads Into Automotive, Battery and Manufacturing Sectors

San Diego - July 10, 2008 - PowerGenix, manufacturer of non-toxic, safe, high performance rechargeable nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries, today announced the formation of a strategic advisory board to include Mr. Don Runkle, Dr. Alvin Salkind and Dr. Fa Ping Zhong. Under the leadership of CEO Dan Squiller, the advisory board will assist PowerGenix in evaluating emerging markets, advancing its NiZn technology and charting product roadmaps.

"Now that PowerGenix has moved into high volume manufacturing, we are in a position to accelerate penetration into target markets. The expertise and industry knowledge of the advisory board will enable PowerGenix to capitalize on its patented NiZn technology at a particularly advantageous period in our key markets," explained Dan Squiller, CEO of PowerGenix. "These individuals represent the best in their fields, and working alongside our board of directors and management team, will contribute greatly to the company's success."

Mr. Don Runkle is a 30-year auto industry veteran and early developer of electric vehicles and advanced battery technologies. An expert in vehicle energy storage technologies, electric drive trains and subsystems, Mr. Runkle formerly served as VP of GM's Advanced Engineering and Vice-Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Delphi, a world leader in mobile electronics, transportation components and systems technology. Currently serving as Chairman of a number of privately held companies, Mr. Runkle brings invaluable market and technical insight as PowerGenix expands into the high growth HEV segment.

With a distinguished academic and industrial career, Dr. Alvin Salkind is one of the world's most respected electrochemists. A tenured professor at Rutgers University School of Engineering and author of more than 120 technical papers and patents, Dr. Salkind also founded Rutgers Center for Energy Storage Materials and Engineering where he currently serves as the group's director. With more than 25 years of industrial research and management experience in electrochemical applications, including central roles in the commercialization of multiple cell chemistries, PowerGenix will draw upon his deep expertise in rechargeable zinc systems for the development of next generation products.

One of China's most successful battery industry entrepreneurs, Dr. Fa Ping Zhong founded Lyrun, the world's largest supplier of nickel foam, a key material for nickel-based battery chemistries, as well as Hunan Corun Hi-Tech, the second largest rechargeable alkaline battery manufacturer in China. Dr. Zhong is also currently serving his second term as Representative to the People's Republic of China National People's Congress. His stature in the Asian business community and Chinese government will help PowerGenix deepen its market presence and operations in China.
