Marquiss Wind Power Acquires Cirrus Technologies Inc.; Cirrus Founder John Roskey Joins Marquiss As CTO

FOLSOM, Calif., July 22, 2008 - Marquiss Wind Power, an innovator in developing and deploying wind turbine technology, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the assets of Cirrus Technologies Inc. of Carson City, Nev. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.




Cirrus Technologies holds seven patents on technologies related to wind energy. Turbines based on Cirrus Technologies' patents have been installed and tested at the Desert Research Institute and for a major utility.



"Marquiss is excited to add the patented technology of Cirrus to our patent portfolio," said Paul Misso, CEO of Marquiss Wind Power. "Together, we have a strong family of patents specific to small wind that will allow us to deploy better, more effective products than previously marketed in the wind energy sector."



As part of the acquisition, Cirrus founder, John Roskey, will join Marquiss as Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Roskey's experience includes working at Martin Marietta Aerospace on the Space Shuttle West Coast launch facilities and serving as a liaison between contractors and the U.S. Air Force. While running Cirrus, Mr. Roskey won several grants from the Department of Energy and worked with Battelle and Washington State University.



"John brings an industry-leading understanding knowledge of wind and air flow management to the Marquiss turbine and will be invaluable in driving future product development," Mr. Misso said.
