Edgewood, NY - October 22, 2009. Direct Grid Technologies, a subsidiary of Island Technology, announces its new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Edgewood, New York. The opening of the new facility coincides with a growing demand for Direct Grid's DGA Series micro-inverter and monitoring equipment, designed for solar photovoltaic (PV) applications.

"The Edgewood facility is dedicated to providing high level engineering, state-of-the-art manufacturing and support for our operations in North America," said Frank Cooper, president, Direct Grid. "This is a strategic move that also benefits our key partners because we now offer additional U.S. distribution channels through storage of their PV modules at Direct Grid's warehouse," said Cooper.

The 35-foot-tall, 35,000-square-foot, fully enclosed facility allows for existing growth projections as well as future expansion. The facility already has plans for an onsite solar energy system that will use Direct Grid micro-inverters, and will provide a "solar garden" to demonstrate Direct Grid capabilities to visiting customers.

Direct Grid selected Edgewood's Heartland Business Park because it is an epicenter for many growing companies on Long Island, and is located just outside metropolitan New York.
