ZAG/S&W LLP Continues Co-Sponsorship of Israel Cleantech Water Conservation and Renewable Energy Education Initiative with the Embassy of Israel

Washington, D.C. February 3, 2010 - ZAG/S&W LLP has announced that, in conjunction with the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C., and the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation (USISTF), it is continuing its unique cleantech, water conservation, and renewable energy symposia and education programs. The first symposium, held in December 2009, focused on Israeli alternative energy technologies and energy efficiency initiatives. The next presentation, on the crucial topic of water conservation and energy, is scheduled for late March.

ZAG/S&W, USISTF, and the Embassy of Israel identified a select group of individuals affiliated with U.S environmental and energy public interest groups, industry, and the financial services sectors, in order to introduce them to significant Israeli public-private initiatives in the areas of alternative energy, water conservation technologies, and energy efficiency.

"Together with our colleagues in the firm's Tel Aviv office, we have had the opportunity to work with a number of Israeli innovators in the clean and renewable energy technology, and water conservation fields," said ZAG/S&W's Jeffrey M. Karp, co-leader of the firm's Climate-Related Business & Technology Group. "We are delighted to participate in this joint outreach with the Embassy of Israel and the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation."

"Many Israeli clean technology and renewable energy companies are well positioned to capitalize on opportunities in the global market," said Noam Katz, Minister of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel. "A number of Israeli companies have developed innovative solutions to the ongoing challenges of preserving water resources and developing sources of renewable energy. Some of these technologies offer the prospect of enhanced water conservation and reuse, coupled with economic development, in many areas of the globe."

ZAG/S&W LLP was established in 2001 through a unique joint venture of its founding firms Zysman Aharoni Gayer & Co. (ZAG) and Sullivan & Worcester LLP (S&W). Through the joint venture, ZAG/S&W has engaged with a number of Israeli cleantech and renewable energy companies, assisted them in identifying potential investors and licensees for their technologies, and advised them regarding steps that can be taken to enhance their revenue streams and attractiveness to potential investors by adding a carbon emission reduction component to their technologies. ZAG/S&W's Water Resource Development Group advises clients in matters involving water resource and conservation technologies, water-based alternative energy technologies, and all facets of water infrastructure project development, domestically and internationally.
