St. Louis-based Vertegy today announced that it has expanded its staff to keep pace with the growing demand for green and sustainable consulting services. The firm recently added Omar Senghore as assistant project manager and Emma Ruhmann as project specialist.

Senghore, an experienced LEED Accredited Professional, joins Vertegy after spending nearly a decade working for Alberici, Vertegy's parent company. There, he played instrumental roles in numerous multi-million dollar construction and development projects in the St. Louis and Detroit areas, including serving as LEED coordinator for multiple contractor teams across various disciplines for General Motors' LEED Gold Lansing Delta Township Assembly Complex, a project in which Vertegy served as the sustainability consultant. In his new position as assistant project manager, Senghore is using the experience he gained at Alberici to assist him in providing hands-on support for the clients and project teams who are seeking the benefits of sustainable design and construction. Senghore, originally from Gambia in Western Africa, most recently resided in Chesterfield before temporarily moving to Qatar, where he oversees key Vertegy projects.

A recent graduate, Ruhmann, of Florissant, joins Vertegy after interning with the firm in the summer of 2009. As a project specialist, Ruhmann provides support to the Vertegy project management team as well as clients and design/construction teams, focusing on the delivery of efficient and affordable sustainable strategies. She is a LEED Green Associate and is currently studying to become a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction Specialty. Ruhmann graduated from Saint Louis University in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with concentrations in Chemistry and Geosciences.

Founded in February 2005, Vertegy provides clients with design, procurement and construction consulting services for green and sustainable facilities. One of the key ways Vertegy serves clients is by helping them gain certification for their projects from various nationally and internationally recognized certification bodies, such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which provides LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification. Vertegy — which is derived from combining the Latin root for green and strategy — is based in St. Louis at the LEED Platinum Alberici Corporate Headquarters.
