TAS Engineering Consultants, the Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and Control Engineering specialist, is hosting a special workshop at the All Energy exhibition to raise awareness in the renewable energy industry of the services TAS offer to support clients in this developing sector.

Taking place on 18 May in the Boardroom at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, the interactive workshops will discuss the issues surrounding electrical safety in energy production facilities, in particular the Arc Flash phenomenon.

TAS is the global authority of Arc Flash and has undertaken more than 100 specialist studies at industrial premises around the world.

The workshops will include interactive presentations followed by audience participation and Question & Answer Session led by specialist engineering consultant, John Maplesden.

As well as Arc Flash, the company will also present on Functional Safety (IEC 61508 / 61511), Electrical Systems Management and An Introduction to Simulation.

John Maplesden, Deputy Chairman of TAS Engineering Consultants, noted: "The objective for TAS is to demonstrate how our developed consultancy services can be used to identify potential hazards and prevent engineering incidents before they occur, through the efficient management and maintenance of industrial facilities."

The workshops will also cover a demonstration of I:Response; and Emergency Management Solution designed by Teesside-based software designers, Cleveland Process Designs (CPD).

John Maplesden added: "These workshops will provide an interesting platform for debate and discussion about electrical safety and management, which I am sure engineers attending All Energy will find very informative."

The workshops are free to attend. To book a place or submit a question for the debate section of the workshops, contact Kristine Grey at TAS Engineering Consultants on Kristine.Grey@tas.co.uk or call 01642 613622
