Solectria Renewables' SMARTGRID Inverters Selected by BlueChip Energy to Power the Largest Rooftop

(RELEASE DATE: 7/26/11)

Solectria Renewables, LLC, the leading U.S. PV inverter manufacturer, announced today that it has delivered four SGI 266's (266kW SMARTGRID Inverters) to BlueChip Energy, LLC to power the 1.5 megawatt (MW) rooftop installation as part of the Rinehart Solar Farm in Lake Mary, Florida

The 1.5MW system is the first stage of the 10MW Rinehart Solar Farm, which will be located on the rooftop and surrounding grounds of the BlueChip Energy campus and their 318,000 square foot production facility in Lake Mary, Florida. This PV rooftop installation will be the largest in Florida.

The SGI 266 inverters maintain the industry's highest CEC efficiency of 97.5% with the most options available to customers. The SGI Series enhances system-wide energy and solar plant yield, facilitating high return on investment (ROI) and the low levelized cost of energy (LCOE) to the large-scale and utility-scale solar industry. The 1.5MW rooftop installation will provide BlueChip Energy over $1 million annually in energy savings.

"BlueChip Energy, an alternative energy utility company that generates renewable solar energy, evaluated various inverter manufacturers for this project and choose Solectria Renewables based on the reliability and the ability of their inverters to be deployed in and customized for any environment," said Wayne Tupuloa, BlueChip Energy's Vice President of Operations.

"The U.S. solar market has been exploding over the past 2 years, especially in the South where we are seeing a significant increase in grid-tied PV activity," said Bob Montanaro, Southeast Regional Sales Manager of Solectria Renewables. "BlueChip Energy is one of the largest developers in Florida, developing over 60MW of grid-tied PV projects and Solectria Renewables is proud to be the inverter of choice for the first phase of the Rinehart Solar Farm project, and largest rooftop installation in Florida."

WS510 Secondary Standard

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
