North Georgia Community To Celebrate Local Solar Energy System

On Friday September 23rd the North Georgia community will celebrate a solar event at a local medical office. The photovoltaic (PV) project used local solar integrator Solar Energy USA who crafted and installed a 168 solar panel design using panels manufactured locally in South Georgia.

The North Georgia community will celebrate a ribbon cutting and switch throwing event to fire up a new photovoltaic (PV) solar energy system installed at the Northview Orthopaedic Associates medical clinic at 12 noon on Friday, September 23rd at 70 Ansley Drive in Dahlonega, Georgia. Expected attendees include members of the local chamber of commerce, the mayor's office, and local press. All are invited to attend this incredible solar unveiling which will include child-friendly activities, lunch, and free giveaways.

This project was funded by a combination of tax incentives offered for solar energy projects including a federal grant covering thirty percent of the total cost. A tax credit offered by the state of Georgia covering an additional thirty-five percent was also used.

Over 35 years this system will offset more than 1,562 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting 37,273 trees or removing 49,291 gallons of gasoline from the road. In it's first year it will produce over 58,484 kWh of energy.

Northview is applying for a solar energy buyback program with Georgia's main power provider, Georgia Power, through which the utility will purchase the solar energy this project generates at a premium rate.

Sixty locally manufactured solar panels were installed via ground mount along the rear parking lot accompanied by one hundred and eight panels on the front of the medical office for a total of 38.64kW.

Solar Energy USA of Alpharetta, Georgia designed and installed the incredible renewable energy project. Solar Energy USA specializes in affordable solar solutions including photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, solar thermal systems, solar powered attic ventilation, and energy efficient T5 lighting.

Northview Orthopaedic Associates in Dahlonega, Georgia has been devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and diseases of the body's musculoskeletal system for more than 18 years.
