PANELCLAW ADDS SUNTECH, YINGLI SOLAR, TRINA, AND KYOCERA SOLAR MODULES TO UL 2703 LISTING

PanelClaw, a leader in solar mounting systems, announced today the addition of Suntech, Yingli Solar, Trina Solar, and Kyocera PV modules to its UL 2703 listing.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA, USA – September 28, 2011 - PanelClaw, a leader in solar mounting systems, announced today the addition of Suntech, Yingli Solar, Trina Solar, and Kyocera PV modules to its UL 2703 listing. PanelClaw is the first US company to have systems and components listed under UL 2703, a new UL subject specifically focused on evaluating solar PV mounting systems. UL listing demonstrates the effectiveness of PanelClaw's solar mounting systems and enables installers to drastically reduce grounding costs with modules from these manufacturers.

"Every penny per watt makes a big difference in dropping the cost of solar electricity," said Wei-Tai Kwok, Vice President of Marketing for Suntech America. "Improved mounting systems and installation components are key contributors in driving the solar industry past grid parity in the U.S. and markets around the world."
A key component of UL 2703 is the UL recognition of PanelClaw's mounting systems and module attachment components (Claws) as approved electric bonding and grounding devices. Installers can reduce grounding costs by $.02-.06/W with PanelClaw mounting solutions, by increasing install speed, lowering labor costs, and eliminating the vast majority of copper wire and ground lugs otherwise needed to establish equipment ground connections in a PV system. PanelClaw's UL listing also enables installers to easily show compliance with array grounding requirements.
"Matching Yingli Solar's PV modules with PanelClaw's mounting systems eliminates the need to run copper wire for the purposes of equipment grounding, which reduces installation time and system cost for our customers," said Brian Grenko, Director of Operations, Yingli Green Energy Americas. "PanelClaw's certified solution reinforces our commitment to realizing affordable clean energy for all."
To achieve UL 2703 component recognition and system listing, all PanelClaw solar mounting products successfully completed a rigorous testing program that included temperature and humidity cycling; electrical resistance and conductance testing; manufacturing and operational quality reviews; and module specific conductivity and mechanical load testing.
"UL 2703 listing is part of our continued commitment to advanced testing and certification," said Costa Nicolaou, PanelClaw's President. "We will continue to expand our UL testing program and add additional module manufacturers to our listing, helping our partners reduce the cost of solar."

Easy monitoring with weather sensors from Lufft

Professional weather sensors form the heart of large solar plants supporting their operation and performance. Lufft was the first manufacturer to combine several sensors in one housing, bringing the largest multiparameter weather sensor family with 19 members into being. Many of them are well-suited for solar site assessment and continuous monitoring. The most commonly used one is the WS600 delivering data on temperature, air pressure, wind, relative humidity and precipitation. Through its open protocol, it can easily be attached to radiation sensors e.g. from Kipp&Zonen. Other models have an integrated Silicon, Second Class or Secondary Standard radiation sensor.
