Depending on the metal sheet shape, each PowerClamp system will use a clamp that is precisely suitable for the mounting situation. To avoid roof leakage, our designs take into account the specific clamp force needed, based on both compressive and pullout resistance etc.

In general, the design is suited to either rail-mounting or non rail-mounting options.

Rail-mounting notes:
1. Always attempt to assemble the rail on the plate as close to vertical as possible, to help balance roof bearing forces.
2. If the beam configuration is the same as the wave direction, it may be necessary to consider the length and width of each panel, to avoid any gaps caused by the rail being too long or too short.
3. The solar panel clamp is designed for the long side of the panel, to balance carrying capacity.
4. The rail direction shall be the vertical position with metal sheet wave, to ensure a tight fit and save space.

Non-rail mounting notes:
The design allows for immediate installation of the module onto the sheet metal, which can save space and cost. But there are a few important points to consider:
1. The clamp should be affixed on the wave only, however, the space between waves will differ depending on the length of board, so solar panels should be placed vertically with waves, with clamps fixed onto the long side of the board.
2. The dimensions of metal sheet and the battery panel will have a major impact on the mounting and should be taken into account. If not considered, this can result in a big gap between panels after installation, and an underutilized roof.
3. Compared to rail mounting, the non-rail mounting system has independent bearing solar panels that are unable to distribute force and keep the system stable.
