Greenwood Frontier CX Wood Boiler Receives Washington State Certification

Greenwood Clean Energy's Frontier CX wood boiler is the first log wood boiler certified for sale in Washington State, marking a significant advance in wood-fired central heat.

BELLEVUE, Wash. (August 20, 2012) – Greenwood Clean Energy is pleased to announce that the Greenwood Frontier CX wood boiler has received certification from the Washington State Department of Ecology, the first for a log wood boiler. The certification enables the company's dealers to begin selling the wood-fired central heating appliance to Washington customers.

The Frontier CX achieved emission performance of 3.07g/hr. In the hydronic heater category, the Washington State emission standards (4.5g/hr) are 75% stricter than the EPA standards of 18g/hr. To put the results in perspective, the Greenwood Frontier CX can produce the same amount of heat as three wood stoves with lower emissions than a single wood stove. It blends this high performance with the familiarity of a wood stove and provides cost savings that are unmatched by conventional home heating systems.

"Our engineering team spent 1000's of hours over the past several years developing the modulating Crossfire™ Combustion platform, the engine that drives the Frontier CX," said Michael Kuehner, President and co-founder of Greenwood Clean Energy. "We are delighted to be the only wood boiler certified for sale in Washington State; it verifies the Frontier CX's remarkable green credentials."

The Frontier CX is the first in a line of smart appliances that incorporate the Crossfire™ Combustion technology. Each hydronic heater brings major advances in wood boiler performance through boiler modulation and onboard hydronic management. At the core of the appliance is the intelligent Greenwood Boiler Management System, an onboard computer that continuously monitors and adjusts the boiler operation ensuring peak performance across a broad range of applications and heating requirements from early fall to the dead of winter.

As the first log wood boiler that meets the strict Washington State emission standards, the Frontier CX establishes a new product class that represents the future of the wood-fired central heating industry.
Washington customers now have a cost effective option to heat their home and hot water using a local, renewable resource.

The Frontier CX is available through a growing network of dealers. For more information, please visit www.GreenwoodUSA.com or call (888) 788-3090.

WS510 Secondary Standard

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
