RevoluSun, Hawaii's leading provider of residential and commercial solar systems, purchased a WE CARE Solar Suitcase for the Aloha Medical Mission, a non-profit that sends teams of doctors and nurses to help people in medically underserved countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

HONOLULU – www.RevoluSun.com – RevoluSun, Hawaii's leading provider of residential and commercial solar systems, through its own project developers and staff recently raised $1,500 to purchase a WE CARE Solar Suitcase for the Aloha Medical Mission, a non-profit that sends teams of doctors and nurses to help people in medically underserved countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Solar Suitcase is a portable solar power unit that provides doctors and other health care workers with medical lighting and power for mobile communication, computers and medical devices, and can be used for a range of medical and humanitarian settings.

"We are going to take the Solar Suitcase with us on a mission in October to Lahan, a small town in south eastern Nepal made up of mostly poor farmers," said Aloha Medical Mission president, Bradley Wong. "Our doctors will be performing a range of surgeries on about 150 adults and children."

"We are also going to introduce the Solar Suitcase to various hospitals and clinics to see where a portable solar unit can be used," added Dr. Wong. "We believe this is the start of something significant, and hope to set up larger fundraising opportunities to purchase more units for underserved areas. We are very thankful to RevoluSun for seeing the potential of this project."

RevoluSun Project Developer John Cheever was motivated to help the Aloha Medical Mission after meeting Dr. Wong and finding out how the Solar Suitcase could help the nonprofit organization. Cheever shared his desire of raising $1,500 to purchase the Solar Suitcase for Aloha Medical Mission with his RevoluSun coworkers.

"Within ten minutes of presenting the idea at a weekly sales meeting, we raised $500," said Cheever. "Over the course of the next week we raised the additional funds to purchase the Solar Suitcase for the Aloha Medical Mission. I am very proud of everyone at RevoluSun. It is inspiring to work for a company who constantly gives back to the community in so many ways."
