EthoSolar is urging anyone interested in pursuing solar PV microFIT projects to apply now before the program's procurement target has been achieved

(Barrie, Ontario – March 21, 2013) The opportunity to apply for a microFIT contract with the Ontario Power Authority is soon coming to an end. The program's procurement target of 50 megawatts is close to being reached. Based on the number of microFIT contracts that have been awarded and the rate of applications being submitted, we estimate the program will close within the next two to three weeks.

As a demonstrated partner having completed over 500 microFIT solar PV systems across the Province, EthoSolar is encouraging homeowners, farmers, churches and municipalities to act now and apply for a microFIT contract today.

By submitting a microFIT application for installing a PV solar system on your rooftop you are at no risk. There is no microFIT application fee. There is also no obligation to construct the solar project should you change your mind if awarded a microFIT contract. However, should you choose not to submit an application in time you will lose out on an exceptional opportunity to generate passive income (20 year contract) and contribute to clean energy generation.

The EthoSolar team is willing to help interested parties submit a microFIT contract application with no development costs. "The ROI for a microFIT solar installation is up to 14% given the reduced cost of materials and with the OPA's current rates" encourages Michelle Bloom Contreras, Marketing Manager of EthoSolar Inc. "In our experience with the microFIT program, once an application has been submitted, it typically takes around two weeks before we know if a contract will be awarded. Our team of experts can help facilitate the application process. Please contact us at 1-855-207-5500 if you would like to submit a microFIT application."

More on the microFIT Program

The microFIT Program was launched in 2009 as part of the Ontario government's efforts to increase renewable energy in the province. The program provides eligible participants the opportunity to develop a small or "micro" renewable electricity generation project (10 kilowatts (kW) or less in size) on their property. Under this program, microFIT contract holders will be paid a guaranteed price over a 20-year term for all the electricity produced through a solar PV system and delivered to the province's electricity grid. Flex-Core - Flexible Split-Core Current Transformer

The FCL model split-core current transformers have multiple benefits, including a flexible twisting motion for ease of application. Installing a split-core CT means there is no need to disconnect your primary conductor(s) which reduces downtime. Many customizations are available including extended secondary lead wire lengths, various outputs including 5A, 1A, 1VAC, and 0.333VAC, and custom rubber inserts to help center the CT and maintain accuracy. The FCL models can be used in applications up to 720VAC and have an operating frequency from 50Hz to 400Hz.
