EthoSolar is urging anyone interested in pursuing solar PV microFIT projects to apply now before the program's procurement target has been achieved

(Barrie, Ontario – March 21, 2013) The opportunity to apply for a microFIT contract with the Ontario Power Authority is soon coming to an end. The program's procurement target of 50 megawatts is close to being reached. Based on the number of microFIT contracts that have been awarded and the rate of applications being submitted, we estimate the program will close within the next two to three weeks.

More on the microFIT Program

The microFIT Program was launched in 2009 as part of the Ontario government's efforts to increase renewable energy in the province. The program provides eligible participants the opportunity to develop a small or "micro" renewable electricity generation project (10 kilowatts (kW) or less in size) on their property. Under this program, microFIT contract holders will be paid a guaranteed price over a 20-year term for all the electricity produced through a solar PV system and delivered to the province's electricity grid.
