SoCal Homeowners Invited to Attend Baker Electric Solar Open House in Ramona

Baker Electric Solar invites Southern California homeowners to a complimentary solar open house on Saturday, June 22, 2013 in Ramona. Attendees will tour a live 5.9 kW residential solar energy system in the San Diego Country Estates neighborhood.

Baker Electric Solar, a full-service solar integrator specializing in green technology design / build residential solar and commercial solar installations, invites San Diego County homeowners to attend a complimentary solar open house on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 25835 Bellemore Drive in Ramona, California. Attendees will get firsthand information on "going solar" from the residence owners and Baker Electric Solar (BES) energy consultants.

With an average of 267 sunny days a year, Ramona is an ideal location for residential solar installations. BES has more than 42 solar systems installed or in process in the city of Ramona. The Behrns' installation at 25835 Bellemore was the fifth SunPower installation in the San Diego Country Estates neighborhood.

Local residents are encouraged to come out and tour the live 5.9 kW solar energy system designed and installed by BES. Attendees will see the home's functioning solar equipment -- 18 SunPower E20/327 panels, a SunPower 5000m inverter, solar monitoring, and connection to the utility meter. They will view the homeowner's actual electric bill and see the savings, as well as be able to ask questions about the system installation and its operation.

According to the homeowners, the zero-down, fixed payment 20-year lease agreement has generated immediate savings. The monthly payments are less than what they would pay the utility for electricity. Factoring in utility rate increases, the locked-in low energy rate savings over 20 years is projected at $31,820.

Attendees are welcome to bring their electric bills and have a BES solar energy consultant estimate the monthly savings a solar system would provide them.

"San Diego County residents will see their electric bills will go up approximately 12.2 percent come September," said BES Residential Sales Manager, Andrew Berlin. "Between San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station closing permanently and the approved four-year rate increase totaling more than $500M for SDG&E customers, it's time for homeowners who have electric bills on average higher than $160 a month to look into renewable energy. We want to extend our thanks to the Behrns' for hosting the solar open house so others can see how affordable and easy it is to go solar."

As a Baker Electric Inc. family company, Baker Electric Solar, has the history, the backing and the diversification of its parent, a local home and business electrical contractor founded in 1938. Offering sun-powered options since 2003, the companies have helped more than 1000 San Diego County residents use the sun to save on their electric bills.
