New York State is partnering to bring top experts to Niagara Falls for premier World Event featuring economic programs, sustainable products & technologies in new energy
The World Green Energy Symposium (WGES), a premier world event which will unveil the latest technologies and economic opportunities in new energy and feature top experts in sustainable energy, will be held April 22-24, 2014 in Niagara Falls, New York. It was announced today that the WGES will take place at the Conference & Events Center Niagara Falls with doors opening on 2014 EARTH DAY.
The World Green Energy Symposium has been held in major cities and venues and is known for drawing thousands of participants from a broad array of energy related disciplines. The World Exhibitor Showcase will contain the latest products and innovations, as well as master class lectures and workshops conducted by renowned experts in the field. The program agenda provides a world stage of education and information exchange.
The program's rollout announcement on Thursday, August 1 was moderated by Ed Kowalewski, Empire State Development (ESD) Director of International Investment Program and Private Sector Liaison at World Bank. Professor Robert Gallagher, Executive Chairman of the WGES Organizing Council, launched a portion of the program ahead of this major conference on sustainable development. The conference is expected to attract top industry leaders, government officials, universities, environmental and economic experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, government agencies, financial lenders and investors, manufacturers, and nonprofit organizations who will engage in a platform of education and information exchange using sustainable technologies and sustainable development as a vantage point to increase the economics in communities.
"Sustainable economic development is a top priority – it creates jobs and reduces future environmental challenges," Professor Gallagher said at the media briefing. "Sustainable energy alternatives, climate control innovations, technologies to decrease carbon emissions, reducing landfills with new technologies, manufacturing of renewable products, and information on latest policies and tax incentives, along with participations from local, state, federal agencies, information on contracting opportunities, exporting and trade, details on careers and new disciplines – all are addressed at the WGES by top experts while the WGES World Exhibitors Showcase their latest products and technologies currently available to meet procurement requirements in both government and private sector and to benefit businesses, homes, and communities."
Community and business leaders, delegates and dignitaries who presented at today's launch included WGES Organizing Council Executive Chairman and Professor Robert Gallagher; ESD Vice President of Strategic Business Development Jeff Janiszewski; Bi-National Alliance Executive Director Arlene White; Legislator Kathryn Lance, Chairwoman of the Niagara County Legislature Economic Development; and Niagara County Legislator Cheree J. Copelin.
