Cost Containment partners with "green" pricing option supplier.

Cost Containment International has announced that it is now promoting the sale of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates (RECs).

Aug. 8, 2013 – Cost Containment International, LLC., has partnered with Community Green Energy, LLC. as its supplier of choice for providing customers with Green-e Energy Certified 100% Wind RECs, as part of its electric supply options to current and new natural gas and electric clients.

By purchasing wind RECs, buyers are directly supporting existing renewable wind energy as well as the ongoing development of renewable energy. Wind REC buyers are able to claim ownership of the electricity generated by renewable wind along with its environmental benefits.
"Sustainability is a big part of who we are and what we do," said Hans Herrmann, President of Cost Containment (C2). "We're excited to be able to offer our clients the most flexible way to green-up their electricity."

RECs are the accepted way to track and trade renewable energy. They are seen as the ‘currency' of renewable electricity and green power markets. A single REC is created for every 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity generated from a renewable energy source.

CGE will supply Green-e Energy certified RECs, which are closely monitored and verified, to Cost Containment's customers. Certification ensures a REC meets accepted industry standards for quality.

In addition to greening the electricity, RECs are commonly used by businesses and local governments to comply with renewable energy requirements and guidelines.

Herrmann added, "We are very proud of the fact that C2 is an EPA 100% Green Power Partner – We've purchased enough wind RECs to equal 100 percent of our electricity consumption."
