Ascent Solar Announces Debut of EnerPlex Packr™, Solar Integrated Backpack

Conveniently power up smartphones and other small electronics on the go.

THORNTON, Colo.--Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (ASTI), a manufacturer of consumer and off-grid products integrated with state-of-the-art, flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules, announced the release of the EnerPlex™ brand's first solar integrated backpack, the EnerPlex Packr™.

The Packr backpack is integrated with a 3-watt regulated flexible solar panel and equipped with a standard USB output, made with Ascent's revolutionary CIGS technology. The lightweight solar module adds minimal weight to the Backpack while allowing it to maintain a traditional form factor. The 3-watt output allows consumers to conveniently power up their smartphones and other small electronics on the go, without ever having to stop and deploy the panel.

The Packr is immediately available for purchase via EnerPlex's retail locations in the Denver area, as well as online at www.goenerplex.com.

Robert Meck, Ascent's Vice-President of Product Development said, "The Packr is the perfect example of how Ascent's transformational technology can be applied to products which consumers use in their everyday lives. The Packr provides a lightweight, useful, and powerful charging solution allowing users to stay 'Always in Charge' while on the move, reducing the need for them to be chained to an outlet."

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
