Leaders of onshore wind come together to accelerate an emerging market

The leaders of onshore wind will come together in Cape Town, South Africa early next year to discuss 2014's most exciting market and how they can drive forward this budding industry.

With 797MW of onshore wind announced in the most recent bidding round and all preferred bidders hailing from Europe or the Far East, the global leaders of onshore wind are moving into South Africa as fast as they can.

With international players establishing themselves with decent sized projects that combine foreign and local expertise there are both huge risks and massive opportunities facing the SA onshore wind industry. It is for this reason that Wind Energy Summit South Africa, the world's first commercially dedicated SA wind forum is coming to Cape Town to build project strategy and enable the players to procure, construct and delivery successful wind projects in this booming market.

With participation from onshore wind and the South African market's leading companies such as; The National Treasury, Eskom, Nedbank Capital, Enel Green Power, Red Cap, Siemens and DCD Towers the meeting will answer crucial questions facing the industry right now such as:
- How do you find a commercially viable benefiting community to partner with to ensure your project meets the strict Social Economic Empowerment requirements deemed essential by the Department of Energy?
- As SA welcomes international players with full balance sheets, how do you adapt your business to ensure you keep up with the competition?
- What can you learn from the leading projects in construction right now?

Victoria Auckland, Projects Director of Wind Energy Update, creators of the meeting said, "We're delighted to be providing the onshore leaders of South Africa and indeed the world with an intimate platform in which to network whilst tackling the hottest topics with the people that really matter.

"Adding South Africa to our already very successful portfolio covering the U.S. and Europe is something we've been quietly working on for some time and we're very excited to finally share this with the industry."
