British Renewable Energy Awards 2014 to take place at ‘Green Hotel of the Year'

Join the REA to celebrate your renewable energy success stories

This year's British Renewable Energy Awards Gala Dinner [1] will take place at The Savoy Hotel on London's Strand, which won five awards in 2013 for its commitment to reducing its environmental impact [2]. The Savoy estimates it has reduced energy consumption by 30% and greenhouse gas emissions by 3,000 tonnes per year. The Hotel has also managed to achieve its target of zero waste to landfill, partly through the recycling of food waste into biogas and used cooking oil into biodiesel.

On the evening of Thursday 12th June, guests will enjoy drinks in the River Room overlooking the Thames followed by a four course dinner in the famous Lancaster Ballroom. More importantly, guests will celebrate the best of the best in UK renewables and share stories of how green power, heating and fuels are bringing jobs, growth and sustainability to the UK economy.

Nominations are open now for the 2014 Awards [3]. This is a chance for renewable energy businesses to celebrate their successes and those of their colleagues and customers. Now in their ninth year, the Awards include two brand new categories this year, as well as 10 firm favourites. It only takes two minutes to nominate your company, colleagues or customers. The 2013 REA Community Award went to Repowering London for its Brixton Solar Energy projects, which recycle a percentage of the revenues in initiatives that help tackle fuel poverty within the community. Repowering London's Founding Director Agamemnon Otero, who collected the Award at last year's Gala Dinner from Infinis' Commercial Director, Steven Hardman, said:

"It is a huge accolade to win a Renewable Energy Awards. On top of which the ceremony and party is the place to hear truly inspiring stories from the movers and shakers of the industry."

TRA SNOW AND SUN - SOLAR TILE MOUNT

TRA SNOW AND SUN - SOLAR TILE MOUNT

You haven't installed a tile mount that is easier to install than the Solar Tile Mount manufactured by TRA Snow and Sun. Solar Tile Mount is used on all tile roof profiles: flat, mid, and high. It is made in the USA of aluminum alloy for strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Solar Tile Mount is built to allow more ease in installation with more rise from the tile surface to the rail for better air flow below panels. The adjustable base is longer than most allowing attachment 6" to the left or right to have the bracket in the base of the pan of the tile and still fasten to the rafter. Solar Tile Mount is adjustable for counter batten systems from ¾" to 3". The horizontal rail is directly above base fasteners giving greater uplift resistance than any other system. For superior waterproofing apply TRA Snow and Sun's butyl backed VersaFlash aluminum flashing. No tile flashing is needed on top of the tile for greater labor and material cost savings.
