Array Technologies Awarded Tracker Supply Agreement for 40 MW in Bakersfield, CA

The DuraTrack™ HZ single-axis tracker features 120° range of motion

The Pumpjack and Wildwood PV solar projects, 20 MW each, will showcase Array Technologies' industry-leading DuraTrack HZ single-axis solar tracker. Swinerton Renewable Energy, one of the solar industry's premiere construction firms, will build the sites under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract and has officially chosen the DuraTrack HZ single-axis tracker as the ground mount solution. Duke Energy Renewables, a commercial business unit of Duke Energy, is the owner of both projects located in Bakersfield, California.

The DuraTrack HZ continues to push the envelope on design innovation, and in this case the solar tracker features an increased range of motion of 120° from east to west, a new option for DuraTrack HZ customers extended up from the 90° standard.

"We enjoy working with Array Technologies and look forward to another successful project," said George Hershman, Vice President and Division Manager of Swinerton Renewable Energy.

"We could not be more excited to continue our partnership with such a constant and respected industry leader," explained Array Technologies Founder and CEO, Ron Corio. "Swinerton has been, and continues to be, a valued colleague as we work to grow solar energy's installed capacity in California and across the nation."

With design and procurement activities already underway, both solar farms are expected to enter operation before the end of the year. The energy generated will be sold to Southern California Edison (SCE) through a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Once Pumpjack and Wildwood are completed, Swinerton and Array Technologies will have joined forces to install more than 270 MW of utility and commercial-scale solar together in the United States. This is the equivalent of nearly 2,000 acres, or 3 square miles, of installed solar.
