Intersolar 2014 - Solaire Opens CA Office; Nominated Again For Intersolar Award

The nominated project, a 325 kW system completed in November at Whole Foods Market in Brooklyn, New York

SAN FRANCISCO, July 7, 2014 -- Solaire Generation, the nationally recognized market leader for innovative and cost-competitive solar solutions, is proud to announce that for the second year in a row one of its projects is a finalist for the Intersolar Award for Best Solar Project in North America. The nominated project, a 325 kW system completed in November at Whole Foods Market in Brooklyn, New York, took home the top honor at Solar Power Generation, winning the Best Solar Project award, and was a finalist for the 2014 PV America Project of Distinction Award.

The award committee selected Solaire's installation of Premium F2 solar parking canopies at the Whole Foods Market in Brooklyn. The project was built in a highly polluted area, the Gowanus Canal, a qualified Superfund site, and helped transform the once disaffected neighborhood into an energetic engine of the vibrant Brooklyn economy.

The Whole Foods project demonstrates the remarkable opportunity that exists for solar energy in the parking lots around retail establishments. The Whole Foods parking canopies are a visible reminder of the store's commitment to sustainability – all while offering sheltered parking to shoppers. The impressive positive response from the community to the environmental benefits and architectural design is already fostering a loyal customer base. Solaire's Premium F2 canopies play a lead role in reducing the site's water consumption. They feature an integrated water management system that collects storm water and feeds it to a 30,000-gallon tank beneath the parking lots where it is stored for filtration and reuse within the building.

In California, Solaire continues to strengthen its presence. Solaire Generation welcomed Bill Adelson as the Director of Western Operations in May, and a month later, opened the doors to its west coast office in San Diego. Solaire's west coast team is overseeing several projects from southern to northern California at varied sites including a shopping mall, school and casino.

Solaire will be presenting updated pricing, product, and service offerings at booth 9219 at Intersolar North America. Solaire Generation representatives will be available throughout the week to discuss Solaire's expanding presence on the West Coast and partnership opportunities. Parties interested in obtaining additional information or meeting with the company at Intersolar NA should contact Taylor Leyden at (646) 738-6963 or tleyden@solairegeneration.com .
