News that the fifteenth show in the annual All-Energy series of exhibitions and conferences is to be held in Glasgow, and which opens nine months today, has been met with enthusiasm, resulting in half of the available space being reserved or booked by exhibitors from nine countries – Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK.

"We are delighted that there has been such a positive result to the news that we are moving the UK's largest renewable exhibition and conference to SECC where it will be held Wednesday 6 – Thursday 7 May 2015," says Event Director, Jonathan Heastie of Reed Exhibitions. "Naturally it was a wrench leaving Aberdeen after so many years of successful growth, but the time was deemed right for a change of venue to ensure that we continue to connect the UK supply chain who participate in All-Energy to new contacts from both national and international trading locations

"Our post-event survey of both exhibitors and visitors has shown that a high proportion from north and south of the Border are enthusiastic about the move to Glasgow, indeed the event is tracking ahead of last year so is set to be bigger than 2014."

Aptly Glasgow will hold its first themed year in 2015 – a Green Year, with All-Energy as one of its showcase events in this programme of city-wide, high profile initiatives all aimed at getting local businesses and communities involved in sustainability. Additionally, the support that the event and all of its participants will receive from Glasgow, including its commitment to help grow attendance and participation from local policy makers, academia, research and industry will ensure All-Energy continues to grow and evolve to best reflect and serve the UK renewables industry.

Post show statistics
As Jonathan Heastie explains: "Our post-show survey has produced some fascinating facts and figures that speak volumes about the support for All-Energy, which in 2014 had over 450 exhibiting companies and total attendance of 6875 from 48 countries.

"Many of the statistics will be on our website at www.all-energy.co.uk before too long, but amongst them I have particularly picked out the fact that the number of visitors with purchasing power increased in 2014, and we saw an increase in many visitor categories such as President/COE/Board Member/Director/Head of Department/MD/Partner/Owner and Executives.

"93% of exhibitors who completed the survey were satisfied, very satisfied and completely satisfied; and the number was similarly encouraging on the visitor side at 95%. Other figure in the nineties were satisfaction levels for the conference at 97% and the welcome fact that 92% of those surveyed would recommend the All-Energy conference to others in the profession.

"Over a third of our visitors listed their main interest as offshore and onshore wind (both large scale and medium to small scale in the case of the latter), with wave and tidal not far behind at 30%. Energy efficiency scored highly along with energy management and will receive greater attention in terms of conference time in 2015 and solar, biomass and hydropower were all high scorers, followed by all other sectors that make up this widre ranging industry.

"Networking is vital for both visitors and exhibitors and satisfaction levels for our Giant Networking Evening were high – this is something we will be continuing in Glasgow with a most exciting venue for the first show there.

MBE for show's co-creator
"Since the show in late May, we have been able to celebrate with Judith Patten, the show's co-creator, who was awarded MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for ‘services to renewable energy'. This is a tremendous feather not only in her cap, but she has pointed out that this is also an award for teams past and present who have worked tirelessly to build All-Energy.

"Although the conference Call for Papers will not be launched until late September, I know that she is already on the receiving end of some splendid suggestions from home and overseas about some highly relevant presentations, the move to Glasgow has stimulated more calls from overseas on the conference than ever before at this time of year."

All-Energy 2014 saw 400+ conference and seminar speakers in over 50 conference, share fair and seminar sessions with over 95 hours of content. Presentations from All-Energy 2014 are online and freely accessible – with videos of some available as well, including the interview with Sir Richard Branson (by Calum Davidson of HIE and Rick Squires of Good Energy), enabling those who attended to re-live the experience; and to help those who didn't to catch up on opinions of key stakeholders.

Ethos remains the same
The venue may have changed, but the ethos of All-Energy remains very much the same. It is a show for all forms of renewable and sustainable energy, and the ‘sensible option' – energy efficiency. The conference will be addressing every sector and the challenges and opportunities each face, and those facing the overall industry. Entry to exhibition and the multi-stream conference will remain free of charge to all with a business/professional interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Further information on all aspects of the show is available at www.all-energy.co.uk and from all-energy@reedexpo.co.uk with individuals' contact details on the show's web pages.
