Aquion Energy and Ideal Power Announce Technology Partnership

Aquion Energy Verifies Compatibility of Power Conversion Systems and Aqueous Hybrid Ion Batteries

AUSTIN, TX and PITTSBURG, PA -- Ideal Power Inc. (NASDAQ: IPWR), a developer of innovative power conversion technologies, and Aquion Energy, the developer and manufacturer of Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI™) batteries, today announced that Ideal Power's Power Conversion Systems (PCS), utilizing its patented Power Packet Switching Architecture™ (PPSA), have been tested and validated by Aquion Energy for compatibility with their AHI batteries.

Ideal Power's PCS underwent testing and validation in Aquion Energy's labs to verify the compatibility of the two companies' products under typical operating conditions. The results demonstrated that Ideal Power's PCS is an excellent fit for Aquion Energy's battery products, delivering exceptional efficiency and reliability. The AHI batteries are clean and sustainable saltwater batteries that are optimized for storing solar energy for residential, off-grid and microgrid applications.

"After testing Ideal Power's systems, we've determined that the performance and flexibility of their PCS is a great match for our batteries," said Ted Wiley, Co-Founder and Vice President of Product and Corporate Strategy at Aquion Energy. "We want to ensure that our AHI batteries work with the leading PCS systems in the market so that our customers can optimize the performance of our batteries. We're confident in recommending Ideal Power's PCS to our customers for their storage applications."

"Aquion's Aqueous Hybrid Ion chemistry is a safe, sustainable, and cost-effective energy storage solution for both microgrid and off-grid applications. Their batteries are a perfect match for our new microgrid-forming products," said Ryan O'Keefe, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Ideal Power.

SolarEdge Technologies - Solar Inverters, Power Optimizers and PV Monitoring

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability. The fixed-voltage technology ensures the solar inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage over a wider range of string lengths and regardless of environmental conditions. A proprietary data monitoring receiver has been integrated into the inverter and aggregates the power optimizer performance data from each PV module. This data can be transmitted to the web and accessed via the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for performance analysis, fault detection and troubleshooting of PV systems.
