YANMAR America CHP Units Recognized for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reductions in 2014

YANMAR America was recently recognized by the EPA Combined Heat & Power Partnership for its achievement in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in 2014. Avoided emissions last year equaled the amount of electricity used annually by 69 homes.

Adairsville, GA (April 16, 2015) - YANMAR America Corporation was recently recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Partnership for its achievement in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its cogeneration products in 2014. A total of 29 reported CHP projects avoided an emissions of an estimated 1,160 metric tons of carbon dioxide compared to conventional energy sources. This includes avoided emissions of more than 503 metric tons in 2014, which is equal to the amount of electricity used annually by 69 homes.


YANMAR America currently offers 5kW and 10kW mCHP systems in the United States. These systems use internal combustion engines powered by clean natural gas or propane to generate electricity and useful heat close to the point of use. Designed to be more than 30 percent more efficient than conventional generation sources, these units are ideal for hotels, restaurants, office buildings, multi-family housing, luxury residential homes and other new or retrofit light commercial applications.
