Applied Energy Technologies (AET) Selected by Swinerton Renewable Energy for 22.6 MW Solar Project in Utah

The planned ‘Seven Sisters’ solar projects includes seven separate solar photovoltaic projects, four of which are to be sited in Beaver County and three to be located in Iron County, Utah.

Salt Lake City, Utah - June 25, 2015 - Applied Energy Technologies (AET) a preferred supplier of utility-scale racking systems and one of the top 10 solar racking companies in the United States, has been selected by Swinerton Renewable Energy to provide its Rayport-G ECO mounting system for the 22.6 MW installation in Utah's Beaver and Iron counties.

The planned ‘Seven Sisters' solar projects includes seven separate solar photovoltaic projects, four of which are to be sited in Beaver County and three to be located in Iron County, Utah. Construction began early 2015 with a target completion date of Q3 2015. The projects will use more than 74,000, 305-watt solar panels. Once complete, the combined generating capacity of all seven projects will be 40,000 megawatt-hours per year, or equivalent to the electricity use of more than 4,000 Utah homes per year.

"AET underwent an extensive vetting process with both companies. We were selected based on our high quality racking solutions, competitive price point, exceptional customer service and our reputation of delivering 100 percent on time, 100 percent on budget and zero warranty claims. We are honored to have been selected by Swinerton and look forward to supporting more of their solar power plants," commented Aaron Faust, VP of Development at AET.

The Rayport-G ECO is rapidly becoming an industry standard for developers and EPCs looking for a ground-mount system that is easy to install, scalable and delivers significant savings on total installed costs. The Rayport-G ECO is strong and durable, having been engineered to withstand the most challenging environmental conditions. It is also light and compact, allowing for high shipping density, significantly reducing freight costs and enabling easier handling on the job site.

Swinerton Renewable Energy is the EPC on the project. With more than 650 MW in installations, Swinerton specializes in utility-scale solar power solutions.

SolarEdge Technologies - Solar Inverters, Power Optimizers and PV Monitoring

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability. The fixed-voltage technology ensures the solar inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage over a wider range of string lengths and regardless of environmental conditions. A proprietary data monitoring receiver has been integrated into the inverter and aggregates the power optimizer performance data from each PV module. This data can be transmitted to the web and accessed via the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for performance analysis, fault detection and troubleshooting of PV systems.
