San Diego's Only Solar Company with Highest Industry Honor Installs Solar at Headquarters

Sullivan Solar Power employees utilize NABCEP training to install solar

San Diego, Calif December 07, 2015 -- Sullivan Solar Power office personnel and electricians volunteered to install solar at the companys headquarters in Miramar, San Diego. The installation was a part of a year-long training for employees, which resulted in Sullivan Solar Powers prestigious recognition, North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Company Accreditation.

"NABCEP certification is the ‘gold standard' for solar professionals," said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, "Sullivan Solar Power is committed to making certain all of our employees have the required knowledge to, not only service our customers, but to provide them with the highest degree of expertise and knowledge. Given what our customers are investing in renewable energy, they deserve the best professionals to deliver their projects."

Sullivan Solar Power is the first company in San Diego County and Orange County, and the fourth in the nation to receive NABCEP Company Accreditation.

"Sullivans entire staff was able to utilize the knowledge gained during NABCEP training to not only understand the technical aspects of the design and installation of the solar power system for our office, but to contribute during the installation" said David Savarese, Director of Project Development at Sullivan Solar Power, "We had a great time working together to install our own solar power system, and are excited to be energy independent."

The Sullivan Solar Power headquarters installation is a 30,530-watt ballasted solar photovoltaic (PV) system, consisting of 139 solar modules and three SMA America Sunny Boy transformerless inverters: 5,000, 6,000 and 15,000 tri-power. Over 50 Sullivan team members collaborated to install this system on consecutive Saturdays.

There are now more employees in California working in solar than the five largest utilities combined; NABCEP developed a company accreditation program that provides consumers a way to find companies that are committed to high quality installation standards and adhere to industry best practices.

"As one of the first NABCEP Accredited PV Installation Companies in the country, Sullivan Solar Power has demonstrated their commitment to delivering a high quality sales and installation process to each and every one of their customers," said Richard Lawrence, executive director of NABCEP, "Choosing a NABCEP Accredited PV Installation Company, like Sullivan Solar Power, helps to ensure that your PV system will be designed and installed by trained professionals using industry best practices."

Since the companys inception, Sullivan Solar Powers electricians receive more than 5,000-hours of training before installing solar for clients. The company has developed a rigid quality assurance and quality control program that has allowed the firm to secure multiple contracts with high-profile clients with rigorous qualification criteria such as San Diego State University, University of California San Diego, San Diego Gas & Electric, City of Chula Vista, the Port of Long Beach and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
