Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer of geoAMPS, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 Award in the Ohio Valley Region. geoAMPS, the company he founded in 2011, provides software solutions to improve efficiency in the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects.

The award recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges.

"I am honored to have been selected a regional finalist in the Ernst and Young awards program. It is humbling to have been chosen along with 24 outstanding business leaders in the Ohio Valley Region," Mr. Khandelwal said. "This is an honor I share with our geoAMPS team. Each day, I am amazed by their commitment to build upon our reputation as a market leader in providing software solutions to advance increased use of alternative energy."

The Ohio Valley Region of the Ernst and Young award program encompasses businesses in Kentucky, Indiana and southwest Ohio, including the metropolitan areas of Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati. There are 25 finalists in the Ohio Valley Region in 2016. Mr. Khandelwal is one of only seven business leaders in Central Ohio to be named a regional finalist. From the finalists, the winners in the region will be announced at an event June 23.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the award program. Over that time, the Entrepreneur of the Year program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in 60 countries throughout the world.

A major reason for the dramatic growth of geoAMPS has been the success of its software product altAMPS, an efficient Web-based project- and asset-tracking system specially designed to meet the needs of wind, solar, biomass and geothermal energy projects.

altAMPS provides industry-leading Web-based tools, such as lease management, royalty payment calculator, payment tracker and scheduler and workflow management. It complies with processes unique to renewable energy companies. There is the added capability to access information through detached tools, GIS maps and smart devices. No longer do project managers have to wait to return to the office to input and share information. Through mobile technology provided by altAMPS, that capability is possible at the push of a button. Project information, development and workflows are managed more efficiently.

Companies utilizing altAMPS have the option of combining its powerful tools with the geoAMPS GIS viewer. The viewer provides an intuitive geospatial report that is compliant with popular mapping technology, such as Esri, Google Maps and Bing Maps.
