SPI 2016 - Continental Control Systems to Highlight Solar Solutions at Solar Power International – Las Vegas 2016

SPI, Las Vegas, booth W1133, September 8 — Continental Control Systems announced today that it will preview a variety of solar solutions including high accuracy production and consumption metering, net metering and zero export metering at SPI 2016, September 13-15.

Due to ever changing state, municipal, and utility requirements, Continental Control Systems continues to add new features to their WattNode® brand of meters which provide complete solutions for solar measurement and control applications.

The WattNode Revenue Modbus meter is a revenue grade kilowatt hour (kWh) energy and power meter that communicates on an RS-485 network. It measures 1, 2, or 3 phases with voltages from 120 to 480 Vac. When used with Accu-CT Class 0.6 current transformers it meets the accuracy requirements of ANSI C12.1, and is UL and cUL listed to UL 2808 most suitable for PV production metering.
The standard 2% accuracy WattNode meters provide a low cost metering solution for single and three phase loads to 6000 amps. CCS offers a variety of current transformers for nearly any electrical configuration including split-core, solid core, and Rogowski style flexible CTs, ideal for consumption metering.
Net metering can be accomplished using any of the WattNode meters, as all energy meters offered by CCS provide bi-directional measurements for real-time reporting of grid export.
Zero export metering with the WattNode Revenue provides real-time and immediate verification of production reduction and zero export when production turn downs or turn-offs are requested by the utility. With the new "fast power" option, real-time power readings from the WattNode Modbus are updated every 200 milliseconds, allowing for a utility feed-in response time of 500 milliseconds. The option FP (Fast Power) supports utility feed-in limit requirements for those utilities that have limits on the AC power that may be fed into the grid by the inverter.
WattNode AC meters offer the ability to monitor the batterys AC inverter output and measure the kW and kWh being consumed from a battery storage unit. "As the number of PV systems going on-line continues to increase, more and more of the energy being produced is being diverted to battery storage. A high-accuracy Wattnode AC meter measuring the batterys inverter output satisfies the need for battery storage metering, said Cynthia A. Boyd, Director of Sales for Continental Control Systems, LLC.
About Continental Control Systems, LLC
Founded in 1995, Colorado-based Continental Control Systems manufactures the WattNode® brand of electric power and energy measurement products and specializes in high-volume OEM designs. The companys meters are designed to provide key electrical system measurements including power (kW) and energy (kWh) through a variety of communication protocols including BACnet®, Modbus®, and LonWorks® or as pulse outputs. Applications for the WattNode® meter and Accu-CT® current transformers include energy production measurement, energy consumption metering, load research, LEED certification, tenant submetering, net metering, and energy management.

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide - the ultimate solution for fast and easy installation of the rail-less RockIt racking system on composition shingle roofs. Smart Slide conforms to UL 441 and TAS 100 (A)-95 for wind and wind-driven rain, providing a super-strong watertight seal that is achieved through compression, in most cases without the need for additional sealant. The waterproofing sealant is embedded deep into the granules of the shingle, thanks to the integrated flexible foam layer that provides cushioning. This ensures a secure fit that conforms to any architectural-style shingle. With UltraGrip Technology™, you can rely on a secure installation, as it absorbs the movement created by thermal expansion and contraction. The pre-installed sealing pads are compatible with all composition shingle roofs, making it the ideal choice, even in ambient temperatures as low as 5 degrees.
