SPI 2016 - Orange ButtonSM Leaders Meet at Solar Power International

Industry leaders will discuss how they are simplifying solar data

WAKEFIELD, Mass., Sept. 13, 2016 - SGIP announces that industry leaders from the Orange ButtonSM initiative, which aims to streamline the way the solar industry establishes and manages data, will have strong presence at Solar Power International in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 12 to 15, 2016.

Aaron Smallwood, Director of Technology Operations at SGIP and Program Manager for the Orange Button Area A program, will present "Orange ButtonSM: Making Solar Competitive," during the Industry Trends Expo Education program at SPI. This presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, from 2:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Pacific Time, in Room LVCC North Hall, Booth 117. "Solar Power International brings together thousands of solar experts from around the world, and its an ideal venue to showcase Orange Button program activities," said Smallwood.
In addition to the Industry Trends presentation, SGIP will host Area As Orange Button initiative face-to-face meeting at SPI on Thursday, September 15 from 9:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. Pacific Time, in Room N257 at Las Vegas Convention Center. The Orange Button Area A Requirements Working Group meeting will be an in-person working session where Orange Button participants will continue to develop market requirements and use cases while coordinating and sharing information across all Orange Button Working Groups. SGIP is one of four organizations selected by the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative to lead the Orange Button initiative to standardize solar data and to increase the bankability of solar projects. Launching in April 2016, SGIPs Orange Button program has over 300 participants.
