Deadline approaches for KIC InnoEnergy's Call for Innovation Proposals

Businesses with a sustainable energy innovation urged to apply before 11th October 2016

The deadline for the Call for Innovation Proposals (CIP) is fast approaching and all applications need to be submitted by 11th October 2016.

KIC InnoEnergy, the innovation engine for sustainable energy across Europe, has already invested €147 million into almost 80 products - helping innovators, researchers and companies on their way to commercial success.

With the launch of the second CIP for 2016 in June, European businesses - start-ups, SMEs or larger, which have innovative sustainable energy projects at the research and development stage - have a second opportunity to apply.

If successful, KIC InnoEnergy can provide support by investing in research and development; working with project teams to shorten the time to market; and provide businesses with technical support to keep the innovation on track.

With KIC InnoEnergys network of industry partners, it will be able to help turn prototypes into viable products, provide access to a deep pool of complementary skills and resources, and connect new innovations to markets and commercial opportunities across Europe.

Once the CIP officially closes on 11th October 2016, the most promising applicants will be asked to present their proposals to two KIC InnoEnergy Assessment Committees. Successful applicants will be announced on 19th December 2016 and they will then begin their journey with KIC InnoEnergy to bring their innovation to market.

Diego Pavia, Chief Executive Officer of KIC InnoEnergy, said:

"The Call for Innovation Proposals is focused on finding and developing new solutions that will make a substantial contribution to achieving our goal of energy sustainability. With €3 billion in forecasted sales from previously successful applicants, we are confident that the projects we are selecting will play a big role in cementing Europe as a leader in sustainable technologies."
