Munich, November 30, 2016 - The success story of ees Europe continues: After experiencing very strong growth already this year, the organizers of Europe's largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems are expecting an even more successful event in 2017. 80% of the exhibition space for the Munich exhibition, which is being held from May 31 to June 2, 2017, has already been booked - despite the fact that the exhibition area is increasing by 40% to 17,500 sqm. Parallel to the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to learn about current developments in e-mobility and the storage industry at the ees Europe Conference, the ees Forum and the special exhibit E-Mobility & Renewable Energy.

The global energy storage market is booming and the German market is also showing strong momentum: The German Solar Association (BSW-Solar) is predicting that the total number of storage systems installed will reach 50,000 this year. In 2016 alone, the number has increased by 15 to 20% as compared to the previous year. Smart renewable energy, that is combining energy generation, storage, grid integration and energy management, is a key topic. Energy storage devices are the backbone of smart renewable energy, as they can absorb excess energy when it is not needed and make it available later. This topic will play an important role at ees Europe and at Intersolar Europe, which is taking place in parallel.

ees Europes success story
ees Europe already has an impressive history to be proud of. It began in 2014 alongside Intersolar Europe with 48 exhibitors and over 2,100 sqm of exhibition space. Just two years later, in 2016, a whopping 212 exhibitors presented their innovations across 12,500 sqm - a growth rate of almost 500%! In conjunction with Intersolar Europe, which takes place at the same time, an impressive 369 of the total 1,063 exhibitors presented innovative services, products and solutions related to energy storage. The success of the previous years is set to continue in 2017: The exhibition space will grow to 17,500 sqm and the organizers are expecting 270 companies from around the globe. As a platform for suppliers, manufacturers, distributers and users of stationary and mobile storage solutions for electrical energy, ees Europe now has a firm place in the calendars of the industrys experts. In 2017, renowned exhibitors such as LG Chem Ltd., sonnen GmbH, HOPPECKE, VARTA Storage GmbH, NEC Energy Solutions and Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH will present their new technologies to exhibition visitors.

ees Europe Conference and special exhibit on e-mobility
At the ees Europe Conference, which will once again take place before and during the exhibition in 2017, high-profile speakers will highlight current trends in the storage industry - from market developments to financing models and digital networks. For the first time, a full-day conference track is planned on the topic of Automotive Battery Technologies. The special exhibit on E-Mobility & Renewable Energy will once again be a particular highlight in the coming year. It sheds light on the role that electric cars will play in the energy mix of the future and presents various vehicle concepts and innovative charging solutions.
