SOLAR POWER IS ON THE RISE - GLOBAL SOLAR SUPPLY IS READY TO MEET DEMAND

CIE SOLAR SUPPLY RENAMES BRAND AND LAUNCHES GLOBALSOLARSUPPLY.COM

VENTURA, CA - Solar installations rose to an all-time high in 2016, and there are no signs of slowing. Quarter after quarter, the solar industry grows more and more, but never like this. The solar industry just experienced its largest quarter ever with more than 4,143 MW of PV installed. The booming utility-scale solar market accounted for roughly 70 percent of this growth, particularly in California, which became the first state to ever install more than 1 gigawatt of utility PV in a single quarter.

This record-breaking quarter brings the total nationwide solar capacity to 35.8 gigawatts, enough to power 6.5 million U.S. homes and reduce carbon emissions by 41.7 million metric tons annually. A new solar project was installed every 84 seconds in 2016, culminating in a new megawatt every 32 minutes. That is about the same as 125 solar panels every minute.

Global Solar Supply will be focusing on educating local city officials and government staff on the benefits of solar usage for projects such as street lighting, parking meters, charging stations and other electric systems that can be easily converted to solar.

"After spending years in the electrical industry, I noticed a shift in local projects, solar was being implemented not only for residential use, but also for commercial, utility and local government projects, which ultimately benefits all of us. I am committed to educating our local officials on the importance of creating a more energy efficient community." Joe Omweg - Owner
