Interview - Installing Solar Systems in California
Gary Gerber - Sun Light & Power

The Maine Wind Industry Initiative
Wind power development doesn't deal with a single industry. There are steel workers, engineers, precision manufactures, boat builders, construction crews, composite technologies, and marine technologies. The Maine Wind Industry Initiative brings these partners under one roof, so that they can network and solve problems working together.

The Solar Power Paradox: Alternative Energy Can’t Run on Oil
Traditional backsheets, the protective covering on solar cells, are produced mainly from polyester and Tedlar films. Both of these products defeat the purpose of clean, green energy, and as the demand for solar energy increases, so does this issue.

Fuel Cells Enlist in Armed Forces
Fuel cells are of particular interest to the military not for their environmental savings, but because of unique technical features that can aid soldiers in the field.

Offshore Wind
Not a single kilowatt of offshore wind has been developed, despite it being a stronger and more consistent energy source than its counterpart on land, closer to large populations where the energy is needed, and already proven commercial technology.

DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions portfolio of PV materials is key to crystalline silicon and thin film solar cell and module manufacturing. Our products help increase the efficiency and lifetime of solar modules.

>>> Hot Story
The roof of a 458,000-square-foot industrial building in Chino, Calif. is now providing as much as one million watts of solar power to Southern California`s Inland Empire. This is the second installation in Southern California Edison`s (SCE`s) plan to place advanced solar panels on hundreds of otherwise unused commercial rooftops across Southern California. During the next five years, SCE will install, own and operate 250 megawatts of solar generating capacity. The utility also will conduct competitive solicitations offering long-term power contracts to independent solar power providers who will install an additional 250 megawatts, bringing to 500 megawatts the total generating capacity of the project - the largest photovoltaic program ever undertaken..>>> more hot stories

VENTUS Ultrasonic Wind Sensor 200W Heater

Extremely precise and maintenance-free measurement of wind velocity and wind direction as well as calculation of acoustic virtual temperature. Belongs to Lufft's WS family of professional intelligent sensors with digital and analog interfaces. The ultrasonic wind sensor is designed without mechanical parts as they have been used with traditional “cups and vanes”. The digital or analog output delivers instantaneous, average, min or max value with flexible measuring rate. The VENTUS is heated in case reaching critical ambient conditions. Made for cold climate! Recommended for: * Wind turbines * Marine/ships * Meteorology * Building automation * SDI12 protocol coming soon.
