PVinsights: Big Buyers Eventually Dominate Pricing Negotiations

After prices hit the plateau in the previous weeks, polysilicon prices decline slightly this week as overseas polysilicon prices witness minor downward corrections. In overseas markets, as some stock pressures and liquidity needs still hang over some American producers and traders, some polysilicon dumping are still taking place, while Korean polysilicon suppliers have hold the prices firm. On the other hand, polysilicon prices in China remain stable this week. As the room for further price hike is unlikely and the demand in the downstream is not as strong as anticipated, the Chinese polysilicon suppliers have become more conservative in terms of pricing.

Chinese solar company opening local module factory in September

Victor A. Patton for Sacramento Business Journal:  A solar module factory expected to bring more than 200 jobs to Sacramento is slated to begin production in mid-September at McClellan Business Park.  It will be the first U.S. factory for Nanjing, China-based solar cell and module manufacturer China Sunergy Co, who on Thursday announced its subsidiary Sunergy America has agreed to lease a 140,000-square-foot manufacturing building — previously a plant where J.C. Penney made window coverings. Simon Szeto, a Sunergy advisor, said the company will bring around 20 management staff from overseas and will hire other employees locally.  The work being done at the factory will include putting together the modules. Each module includes a solar cell, an aluminum frame, tempered glass, cables and a junction box. The completed products, which can be placed on a ground mount or rooftop, will be sold commercially in the U.S, Szeto said.  Cont'd...

SolarEdge Technologies - Solar Inverters, Power Optimizers and PV Monitoring

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability. The fixed-voltage technology ensures the solar inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage over a wider range of string lengths and regardless of environmental conditions. A proprietary data monitoring receiver has been integrated into the inverter and aggregates the power optimizer performance data from each PV module. This data can be transmitted to the web and accessed via the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for performance analysis, fault detection and troubleshooting of PV systems.
