The LG Solar division of LG Electronics USA Business solutions is a leading provider of high-efficiency solar modules for the residential and commercial markets in the United States. LG’s role as a top-tier player in the U.S. market reflects the company’s commitment to delivering advanced renewable energy solutions and builds on LG’s global heavy investments in future growth engines such as high efficiency solar panels, energy storage systems and energy management solutions. What’s more, LG’s new U.S. solar module assembly factory, slated to open in Huntsville, Ala., in early 2019, is expected to further enhance our competitiveness and ability to respond to U.S. customer demand.
Your company will be exhibiting at SPI 2018, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?
SPI is the solar industry’s place to be and be seen. This important annual event brings together the largest gathering of professionals in the solar industry in North America. For LG, SPI is the launchpad for new products and the epicenter of customer relations, both nurturing existing relationships and forging new ones. SPI also aligns with LG’s broader green focus. When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?
SPI is a really busy show for the LG team, but we encourage our employees and partners to take full advantage of the many educational sessions onsite. Staying on top of industry trends, and in some cases leading those trends, is important to maintaining our role as a leading player in the U.S. market.
A tradeshow of this magnitude is extremely busy and stressful for the staff of exhibiting companies. Any fun things or places your team can suggest in Anaheim to help unwind?
We’re taking LG’s “Life’s Good” mantra to Southern California this September at Solar Power International. We recommend taking in the local sights, cuisines and famous beaches – maybe even a quick pit stop at the Happiest Place on Earth – over the course of the convention.

The history of LG's solar business can be traced back to the mid-1980's, when the LG central research lab started R&D on solar technologies. In 2004, the LG business group created synergy and prepared for mass production by consolidating several solar research laboratories under the LG Electronics umbrella. Using decades of R&D experiences, LG Electronics broke ground on its first solar cell and module factory.
