Renewable Energy Industry gears up for strategic summits on Biomass and Offshore Wind Power in Tokyo, this May

Supporting Japan's plans to decarbonize its economy, CMT hosts two summits -- annual 10th Biomass Pellets Trade & Power Summit and the newly launched - OWP Japan (Offshore Wind Power) in Tokyo from 13-16 May and 15-17 May 2019, respectively.

The dual summits are all set to welcome over 400 industry stakeholders from 35+ countries including Japan's government officials, industry majors, financial institutions, feedstock suppliers and analysts -- for 5 days of business networking and market analysis of Japan's maturing biomass energy market and fast emerging offshore wind power industry.


The annual Biomass Pellets Trade & Power Summit celebrates its tenth edition with global biomass buyers and sellers discussing Japan's latest biomass power projects, biomass sustainability and certifications, investments, supply logistics, technologies, plus demand and supply trends. Summit's keynote speakers are from - Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Renova, Sumitomo Corporation, Government of British Columbia, Kansai Electric Power Company. 2019 program features - a site visit to 50MW Sakata Biomass Power Plant and a workshop on 'Sustainability & Traceability Requirement for Imported Biomass in Japan & South Korea'.

OWP Japan delves into Japan's newly opened offshore wind power market that will witness bidding across 5 offshore areas, this year. Orsted, Renova and Nagasaki Prefectural Government are among key presenters discussing latest projects, viability of floating wind turbines and technologies and cost reduction methods for OWP projects, especially lessons based on European models. A workshop on 'Japanese Offshore Wind Sector Laws and Regulations' is a key feature of this summit.
