Xantrex Technology Inc. announces its new 4.5 kilowatt XW Hybrid Inverter/Charger has achieved a CEC efficiency rating of 93% based on the California Energy Commission (CEC) test protocol. This is the highest efficiency rating for grid-interactive inverters with battery backup.

VANCOUVER, B.C., April 23, 2008 - Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX:XTX) announces its new 4.5 kilowatt (kW) XW Hybrid Inverter/Charger has achieved a CEC efficiency rating of 93% based on the California Energy Commission (CEC) test protocol. This is the highest efficiency rating for grid-interactive inverters with battery backup.


The Xantrex 4.5 kW XW Hybrid Inverter/Charger outperforms its direct battery-based competition by 2%, and even outperforms some of the grid-interactive inverters without battery backup on the CEC list.
