Matrix Energy launches MatrixAir, a new perforated cladding system for solar air heating

Matrix Energy, a leading Canadian provider of renewable and energy efficiency products, announced today the launch of their patented, solar air heating system called MatrixAirTM.

MatrixAirTM is an environmentally sound, highly efficient and very cost effective means of providing fresh, solar air heating and ventilation on new or existing commercial, industrial or institutional buildings operating in cold climates. In addition to solar air heating the MatrixAirTM system filters incoming air to improve indoor air quality, and effectively doubles the exterior wall's R-value through heat recovery. This innovative solar air heating and ventilation system delivers outstanding performance and with zero maintenance costs over a very wide range of possible applications. In warmer climates this system may also be used to generate cost effective heating of air for industrial processes and crop drying applications, or space and water heating when fresh air heating is not required.

"When developing MatrixAirTM our objective was to create an aesthetically pleasing, affordable solar heating system that installs easily and maintains the look of conventional metal cladding for ease of use by architects, designers, installers, and building owners." said Brian Wilkinson, President of Matrix Energy. "It would take more than a regular heating or ventilation system to shatter MatrixAir's features and benefits. Our customizable system delivers performance, energy savings, and a solid long-term response to environmental concerns."

Available in a wide range of standard profiles and standard industry colours formulated for their solar absorption properties, the MatrixAirTM system uses conventional exterior metal building cladding that has been optimally perforated to maximize its energy output. It can even help cool a building in summer and heat or ventilate indoor spaces even on cloudy days.
