Bar Harbor (January 28, 2009) — RainWise, Inc., one of the leading manufacturers of quality weather stations in the U.S. and abroad, is pleased to announce the release of the new WindLog'. This valuable device collects and records wind data to test the wind viability of a location prior to the installation of a wind turbine.

The low cost ($350) WindLog' is ideal for individual consumers and businesses who are contemplating the use of a wind turbine as an alternative energy source, or for industrial users hoping to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of existing wind turbine fields. It's placed on the prospective land or building to collect wind data, including wind speed, wind gusts, and wind direction.
Data can be downloaded from the WindLog' using a 15-foot USB cable and the no-cost Windows-based WindLogger' software. The logging interval can be set from once a minute to once an hour. USB extenders can be used to lengthen the USB cable to over 100 feet. The USB cable can be left connected to the WindLog' allowing real-time viewing of the wind data on a computer.
Three AA Alkaline or Lithium batteries are used to power the WindLog', and comes with a multifunction mounting mast. Rainwise, Inc. also offers a variety of masts and mounting systems.
RainWise, Inc. manufactures weather monitoring systems, including the MK-III Weather Station, the RainLogger, and a line of HazMat products used by first responders.
