High-Efficiency Aurora® 3kW to 4.2kW Wind Inverters Receive Approval to the UL1741 Standard

These small-wind, grid-connected products, having already demonstrated acceptance in European markets, have now been approved to the UL1741 safety standard.

Camarillo, CA â€" August 17th, 2009 â€" Power-One, Inc. (Nasdaq: PWER), a leading provider of power conversion and management solutions, announces three new wind inverters from its Aurora® Family for installations in North America. These small-wind, grid-connected products, having already demonstrated acceptance in European markets, have now been approved to the UL1741 safety standard.


The Aurora® PVI-3.0, PVI-3.6, and PVI-4.2 Wind Series for North America (using part number suffix
-OUTD-US-W) offers efficiencies as high as 96.8% (CEC 96%), installer-friendly designs, long service life, and competitive initial acquisition costs; which provide increased return on investment in 3kW to 4.2kW wind power installations. They also provide 208VAC and 277VAC single-phase and 240VAC (split phase) outputs rated at 3.0kW, 3.6kW, and 4.2kW. Other features include full-rated output power available up to 55°C ambient, and a wide Multiple Power Point Tracking (MPPT) operating range from 50 to 580VDC.

Additional features include: grid-connected operation certified to international standards, integrated RS-485 and service USB serial communications, and IP65 (NEMA 4) rated enclosures. A five-year warranty is extendable to ten years as an option.
